Is VaultTool safe to use?
Yes. VaultTool uses a zero-knowledge architecture. All cryptographic encryption and decryption operations occur entirely in your local browser using military-grade PBKDF2 key derivation and AES-256 GCM encryption. Your master password, security PINs, and raw files are never transmitted to any external server.
Can VaultTool recover my lost security PIN?
No. Because of our strict zero-knowledge setup, we do not store, manage, or have backdoor recovery access to your master passwords or PINs. You must keep your credentials safe. If you forget your security PIN, your local database cannot be decrypted.
How does Google Drive cloud synchronization work?
Google Drive Sync connects directly from your browser to your private Google Cloud storage using secure Google OAuth authentication. The encrypted backup packages (AES-256) are written straight to your personal Drive folders. No third party ever sees or manages your cloud sync packets.
Is a credit card required for the free plan?
No credit card is required. You can utilize the VaultTool Free Edition layout directly to manage up to 5 secure files and 5 password credentials locally in your browser sandbox.
